Discover Bad Goisern (4 km from our house), the enchanting village which used to be called “The Monarchies most beautiful village“ and still hasn’t lost any of its charm. The wide and charismatic valley of Bad Goisern stretches out from Hallstatt in the south to Bad Ischl, the summer holiday resort of the emperor in the north. Discoveries dating back to the Stone Age and the Hallstatt period enable us to establish that there was a close contact with villagers from the surrounding regions. The wood and agriculture industry developed very early in the wide fertile valley of Bad Goisern, to supply the mine in Hallstatt. This is how Bad Goisern is where it is now, one of the prettiest landscapes of the Salzkammergut.

Discover Hallstatt. The village of Hallstatt is such an unbelievably spectacular place that even the Chinese have created a copy of the ancient salt mine village. But only in the original will you discover this truly unique culture with such a history – all in a breath-taking mountain setting. The market municipality was already inhabited in the 1st millennium before Christ: during this period – the iron age – the civilization flourished. You will discover all there is to make your vacation in Hallstatt an unforgettable one.

A warm welcome to the Gosau Valley! The yawning high valley seems to be far from any large metropolis, and yet it was densely populated millions of years ago. The imposing Gosau Ridge-mountain ridge, whose rugged scenery dominates the valley, was once namely a coral reef which rose out of the primordial ocean Tethys. In the Gosau valley, one can find one of Austria’s best-known and most-loved scenes: At the head of the valley, at the feet of the Gosau Ridge, lies Lake Gosau. By calm waters, the lake reveals the reflection of the Dachstein Glacier and the highest peak of Austria, the Hoher Dachstein.
